Quantum many-body scars and weak breaking of ergodicity

Recent discovery of persistent revivals in quantum simulators based on Rydberg atoms have pointed to the existence a new type dynamical behavior that challenged conventional paradigms integrability and thermalization. This novel collective effect has been named many-body scars by analogy with weak ergodicity breaking single particle inside stadium billiard. In this overview, we provide pedagogical introduction highlight newly emerged connections semiclassical quantization systems. We discuss relation between more general routes towards violations due "embedded" algebras non-thermal eigenstates, possible applications technology.
